Hat Commission – Poppy The Dog

At the end of last year I had 2 hat commissions, one for a dog and one for a penguin! I’ll leave the penguin reveal for another day, today I am going to show you Poppy the dog!
The lady who commissioned it wanted a hat that looked like her dog Poppy, who is a beautiful beagle. Here are the pictures!

She has big floppy ears and a squishy 3d nose

With a lovely snug lining to keep you warm in the winter months

And giant fluffy pom-poms! (Honestly, they’re massive!)

This was a really fun commission! It is completely my own design, and it was really fun creating it around someone’s pet :)

Happy Easter! (And A Crocheted Easter Surprise Egg!)

Happy Easter everyone! I hope you’re all having a lovely and relaxing Sunday ^_^ I’ve been for a little walk with my partner and I’m now relaxing, watching movies and eating chocolate!

Upcoming Surgery (And a Sneak Peek!)

I am very sorry for being away for so long, but I have been having tests done. I have had the results, and have 2 tumours on my liver. Thankfully they are benign, but they are very large (around 10 cm each) and have to be removed by liver resection. I am scheduled for the major surgery on Friday and I am incredibly scared! I’m going to be in hospital for about 2 weeks, so won’t be able to post until I’m back home.

When I get back I will show you all the things I have been making! I have a lovely blanket to make while in hospital (I wanted something easy and repetitive). I have made some of already so I can get used to the pattern, so hopefully I will finish it in hospital and can recover at home snuggled underneath it!

Also to keep you interested while I’m away, here’s a sneak peek of something I have been making lots of recently! ^_^

Crochet Mice!

Recently my mum asked me to make her a little brown mouse from the nursery rhyme ‘Little Mousey Brown’ 

I posted a few pictures on facebook from patterns I’d found on Ravelry for her to choose from, and she decided she wanted a little purple one too from a different pattern! 3 other friends wanted one too so I now have a little family of mice to make!! (Apparently a group of mice is called a family, I never knew that!)
I’ve just finished the purple one and I’ve made a little lime green one too, but don’t have pictures yet. I’ll show you some pictures soon!

Washi Tape Love! (And A Review)

I have given great thought to how I want my items to be packaged when I open my shop. One thing I knew – I wanted washi tape!! How things are packaged can influence peoples opinion on your business, and good packaging makes a good first impression and helps you to be more memorable. I wanted to coordinate with my logo and banner image so I chose brown (I will show you everything when we’ve perfected it!) I looked through every site and Etsy store that sold washi tape to find the perfect colour and style, and finally settled on this one.

The shop, Pretty Tape from Etsy, has a great selection of colours and styles for great prices. It was hard to stop myself buying more than these! I would totally recommend them, and I will be visiting again as soon as I can find an excuse :) They mostly sell washi tape, but also a few other things like rubber stamps and things for packaging. They are in America but shipping to me in the UK was nice and quick. I didn’t find any faults, and urge you to go check them out!
