Hat Commission – Poppy The Dog

At the end of last year I had 2 hat commissions, one for a dog and one for a penguin! I’ll leave the penguin reveal for another day, today I am going to show you Poppy the dog!
The lady who commissioned it wanted a hat that looked like her dog Poppy, who is a beautiful beagle. Here are the pictures!

She has big floppy ears and a squishy 3d nose

With a lovely snug lining to keep you warm in the winter months

And giant fluffy pom-poms! (Honestly, they’re massive!)

This was a really fun commission! It is completely my own design, and it was really fun creating it around someone’s pet :)

What do you think?

My first ever crochet project! (from 2010)

Well, on Tuesday I showed you my most recent crochet project, and today I show you the first thing I ever made that wasn’t a blanket square! (I learnt crochet by making lots of different squares for a blanket (which still isn’t finished!!) It was a great way to learn!)

This was made for my Sister’s birthday in October 2010, just 5 months after I picked up a crochet hook for the first time!

Now looking back at it, I’m quite impressed with how it turned out!

He was actually meant to look like my sisters dog, but it really didn’t turn out that way! She still loves him though ^_^

A friend has recently asked me to make her one of these after seeing this picture, it will be interesting to see how it compares! I will keep you updated :)

What do you think? What was the first big project you ever made?
