Yesterday was my niece’s 3rd birthday. She loves Hello Kitty and all things pink so I just had to make her a Hello Kitty in a pink ballerina dress!
Isn’t she cute?! She’s made from the book ‘Hello Kitty Crochet’ using these (dk) yarns:
White and black (black was used for eyes and whiskers) – King Cole Smooth
Pink – King Cole Bamboo Cotton
And the tutu fabric was bought from ebay. I chose a glittery one to add extra prettiness!
To make the tutu I cut 2 big circles out of the fabric (over big so they could bunch up) and two smaller circles inside. I threaded white thread through and put Kitty in the middle. Pulled it tight and tied a knot, then used one end to sew it on securely. I then trimmed it because it was a bit too big and then I was done!
I made the original Kitty a few months back that I don’t think I’ve shown you yet, I’ll show you sometime next week!
Happy Geek Pride Day to all fellow geeks out there! *waves* I love all things Superhero, sci-fi, games – and my love for yarn and crochet is definitely geeky!
I’ve been quiet for a little while because last weekend I went to my first superhero convention! I went to The City Of Heroes in Birmingham, and I’ve spent the rest of this week recovering!
There were some amazing guests – here are the autographs we collected:
From top left –
~ Brandon Routh – Superman from Superman Returns and Ray Palmer/The Atom
~ (3 Autographs in this one) Stephen Amell – Oliver Queen/The Arrow; David Ramsey – John Diggle; Caity Lotz – Sara Lance/The Canary – All from the TV show Arrow
~ Both middle pictures are from The Flash TV show:
Jesse L. Martin – Joe West; Rick Cosnett – Eddie Thawne; Candice Patton – Iris West
~ From Gotham TV Show:
Cory Michael Smith – Edward Nygma; Sean Pertwee – Alfred Pennyworth (Also the son of Jon Pertwee who played the third Doctor from Doctor Who!); David Zayas – Sal Maroni
~ Jason Momoa – About to be Aquaman in the new movie (and will be introduced in the new movie Batman v Superman) but also Ronon Dex from Stargate Atlantis, Conan from Conan The Barbarian, and Khal Drogo from Game Of Thrones
Awesome right?! The weekend was full of talks by all the guests, autographs, photoshoots and more! It was a great first convention to go to, and we’ve already booked next years tickets! Our top stars of this one were Brandon Routh and Stephen Amell ^_^
Have you done anything geeky recently? Who would you most like to meet? (could be anyone, not necessarily from tv!)
A few months ago I made this yummy bread and completely forgot to show you! So here it is:
It was sooooo good, definitely a good Sunday treat!
I got the recipe here from Attic24 ^_^
Thank you for visiting, and hope you’re having a relaxing Sunday!
This is amazing, I just had to share!
Awesome, right? Got it from here :)
The other day I opened the door and almost walked into a giant spider web! (Thankfully there wasn’t a spider actually in it…) I took some photo’s to show you:
Isn’t it big!
I love looking closely at webs, they are amazing!
I actually have a phobia of spiders, but for some reason I am fascinated with their webs! (as long as there isn’t a spider in them… *shivers*) I just think it’s amazing that something can make something so strong and intricate! I had my partner check very carefully for a spider before I went near it though. I like to think it was a small spider who just wanted to make a big web…. Okay, I’m getting a bit worried now, so I’m going to stop writing and think about something else!
